It’s funny, he was probably not allowed to say the names “STAR TREK” or “ENTERPRISE”, he had to use generic terms instead, must have been some silly legalities. It made it all sound quite weird. “Spaceship”, it would have sounded much better if he was just allowed to say “The Starship Enterprise”

@paigow66 not …
@paigow66 not nessicarly, you can get a high quality 1080p projector from between 1200 and 2000 dollars (epson 8100, and Panasonic AE4000), and you can get some decent audio equipment for about a grand from ONKYO. It’s really not that expensive, the screen was probably around 400 dollars. the rest of the equipment probably totalled another 1000 dollars, that leaves like 6-7 for the rest of the room, and with him doing all the work and building, he really saved on his costs.

Now that is a father and son project! If I had a house with an extra room to work with, I would do the same thing, but maybe in a Victorian style. I’ve been to Skywalker Ranch, and been in the screening rooms…now those were nice.

I’m building a recording studio with a slightly modernised version of the “space-ship” theme. $12k was definitely a good estimate for the actual room, but there’s no way he got equipment included in that figure.
