Designed to shatter the perceived limitations of portable amplification, the Banshee Audio 5.0 surround sound speaker system makes your iPod or MP3 player sound rich and powerful. The system, which combines an impressive 50 watts of peak performance with Banshee’s patented surround decoding technology, generates revolutionary, immersive surround sound with unmatched volume, precision, and clarity- -all from a single self-contained, compact unit. The system owes its impressive audio performance to its five integral speakers, each of which boasts a banana fiber cone known for its tensile strength. Together, the speakers produce robust bass, a clear midrange with a 360-degree holographic effect, and crisp percussive quality for any song played. It’s the perfect speaker system for iPod and MP3 owners who aren’t satisfied with the tinny sound quality of most competing systems.
The Banshee includes a remote cradle that holds your iPod or MP3 player, along with a 6-foot cord that connects to the main unit. Listeners will also dig the durable plastic case, which sports a stylish high-gloss piano-black finish with a chrome speaker grille. And should you want to add a little extra oomph, the Banshee includes an output for an optional subwoofer. The Banshee, which measures 11.5 by 3 by 6 inches (W x H x D), works with any iPod or MP3 player with a 3.5 mm headphone jack and is backed by a one-year warranty.

Customer Review: The little speaker that could
The Banshee 3d2001 is one of the better audio systems for a mp3 device I have seen or come across.
While most other brands have only 2 speakers, the Banshee has 5.
The sound is clear and rich with a distinct tone quality not found in the other brands. First thing I noticed or felt, was this was not some cheap
audio system made to satisfy a market for an external audio system for your iPod or other device.
As the instructions note, it is not advisable to put these speakers in a close proximity to other electronic appliance’s as this will adversely affect it performances i.e. the snapping and crackling noted by other reviewers. Read the instructions people.
I have been told by those in ” the know ” that the reason the Banshee 3d20001 does not have a battery is this little guy pumps out to many amps for the 5 speakers that to include a battery it would have to be much larger than the product itself thus not being practical; it is not a design flaw, these speakers were never designed to run on an internal power source.
If you want to get it for a family member or friend say in a dorm or similar living situation with a power supply, this is the system to get. It would make a great gift that is sure to please.
Customer Review: Decent but no where near worth its price
The only reason why I bought this was because i got it off a daily deal site(I won’t say which one) for $20 with $2 shipping. I was like hey $150…I’m getting them for $22. How could I pass up that kind of deal? The only downside I was expecting was that the iPod cradle wasn’t a dock. But I was willing to look past that since my Logitech mm28 just connects to the earphone jack(I’ll be comparing some of this to my mm28). Anyway, after anxiously waiting for my package for a week, I rip the HUGE box open and I see this shiny little piece of equipment. I plug her in and I hate that I can’t tell if it’s on or off without sound coming out. But I get her on and get it to a medium volume. Something sounds wrong. I hear like a warbling sound for most songs that I play. I listen to many different types of music where bass and treble and dynamics vary. I try different audio sources. I try sitting and standing at different positions and different distances. No help. Listening at anything near loud volumes…don’t get your hopes up. My mm28′s play at much louder volumes with much better treble and bass production. Mind you that the mm28′s retail around $40 and easily found around $20ish. These banshee speakers also don’t have battery operation. Instead, you get a brick of a power supply. The silly look wouldn’t bother me if it served as a design to give me the awesome sound that it supposedly should. I don’t even think it was worth my $22. Sorry Banshee.
Pros:
»Included cradles
»Style (if it’s your thing)
Cons:
»Weird warbling effect
»Volume handle
»Bass reproduction
»Horrible value
»Bulky “BUY NOW”
