You also can use 5 or 7 audio cables if your home theater reciever has 5.1 or 7.1 multi channels outputs, and your Blu-ray player has all of the high definition sound decoders to play those high definition sounds.

this guys a idiot, because the only movies that’ll use 7.1 r blu ray discs, however some r still encided in 6.1 surround, but in oder to get DTS master audio hd, and Dolby true HD signal from your PS3 system or a regular BD play which has buikt in decoders for Dolby true HD and DTS master audfio hd u need a HDMI cable
