    At “Skywalker Sound …
    At “Skywalker Sound” they’re using Bowers and Wilkin’s (B&W) “802D Nautilus” speakers all the way around the room. These hand-made speakers are 200 pounds a piece, take 500 watts RMS each and cost $6,000 retail, for ONE.
    With movies being recorded and mixed in the studio with 5 (6 or 7) identical speakers, shouldn’t we be listening to our movies at home with 5 (6 or 7) identical speakers?

    I built …
    @dukeheat

    I built my own banana plugs using 12 AWG speaker wire. Considering a lamp’s power cord is just as good as any speaker cable out there, I figured this would do just fine. Plus it’s not so thick that It allowed me to route it towards the surround speakers via wiring duct across my walls and ceilings.

    What kind of wire …
    What kind of wire do you use for your system? I’m getting some rf-82 floorstanders and I was wondering what the best wire is.

    Are you looking to …
    Are you looking to build your system slowly or is $1,100 the most you’re looking to spend on everything? I can only comment on what I’ve heard and Klipsch is a great choice. You would NOT be disappointed.

    My RF-63′s are a bit pricier, but a pair of RF-62′s or RF-82′s would take care of the $1,100.00. But that’s ONLY for the front 2 speakers. You can then start working towards a sub, then finally the center and the surrounds.

    If your looking to …
    If your looking to buy a speaker package i would say go with the mirage speaker package, but if you are looking to build your own set up from scratch start with your front tower speakers and i would recommend this same klipsch set up! hope that was helpful thanks!

    i think the kg 2 was out sometime in the 80 s or early 90 not to sure but alot of people heard if this model and they was one of the best back in the days that dont mean they are still not good mine still look brand new but they are really good for rears now alot of people have them for rears cuz the highs are so good and they hold there own bass without a sub 2

    Nice set up, And …
    Nice set up, And the fact that you are useing them in a lossless audio set-up is even better. Those digital subs they make are amazing! Like 2 regular klipsch subs in one! Well worth the price, and they calibrate themselves! Cool. Check out the klipsch theater on my channel, I used in cieling klipsch for a 7.3 set up precisely measured for the golden triangle rule. All in ceiling ones are positionable 360 degrees, and sound phenomenal!

    That sounds insane!! Let me know how it turns out. $3,000 is not bad for those specs. Mines goes for $2,200 but I got it brand new from a friend who bought 2, thinking one wouldn’t be enough, so I got it for a VERY reasonable price.
