    While Yamaha is …
While Yamaha is great, I beg to differ.

I would choose a Pioneer Elite receiver WAY before a Yamaha.

    my dvd player has …
my dvd player has optical, coaxial and 5.1 so i can get itto make it a 15.3 channelhome theater.we have a 5.1 surround connected and if i had the money then i would get 2 logitech z5500 s and connect one to the optical and one to the coaxial.
then it would be pure 4800 watts of sound.

    i have tested sony/ …
i have tested sony/pioneer/onkyo/maranz/denon/magnat and a lot more brands but when it comes to audio processing nothing, i tell you NOTHING compares to yamaha.

    there never will be …
there never will be a more than 7.1 channel source
even in big home theaters the sound is no more than left/right/surr/center/backsurr/sub.
the rest is matrixed using sound processors that detect wideness effects wich in turn are then logicaly processed to direct whight/distance in an enviroment created by the amplifier.
yamaha processors are the best of the best in the world and there is nothing better than yamaha when it comes to processing.

    true good point but …
true good point but who cares? now dont take this comment as being rude but seriously do most people care about sound accuracy? no but some people do. for surround sound to most people, having all speakers play the sound in 5 ch or 7 ch stereo is what they think of surround sound.

    This receiver is a …
This receiver is a beast! But what’s the point of 11.2? There are no 11.2 sources. Everything will be matrixed to get 11.2 which defeats the purpose of sound accuracy.
