Home Theater Speakers and your PC

http://live.pirillo.com – One of the callers from the 888-PIRILLO line is having trouble connecting his home theater system to his PC. He can hear sounds coming from it, but when he plays games and such, he’s not getting surround sound.

    can i install keiga plateamps to both of my 15 inch floorstanding subs the run them to the sub output to the home reciver with a y spiter then just run my mids n tweeter of the amp from the reciver the subs r 8 ohms and r rated 10-325 watts the set up will just be for music please help

    I need a little help.
    I have the Xbox360 HTS and i have 5.1 and everything in my Xbox game experience but I want to cnnect that HTS into my PC but my pc only has that classic headphone entrance,, does it exists a digital cable that is digital entrance from one side and that normal in another or I need to change the sound card.
    Just help me in this one I need to know.

    i have a home theatre system its a sony dav-hdx265 and i’ve connected to my pc and its old its a windows xp home edition with a ac’97 sound card built in to the mother board.all i had to do is ihave to click on the speaker at my taskbar near my clock go to audio properties then go to advance and switch to 5.1 suroound sound speakers.thats all you need to do well doesnt work all the time this might be helpfull to others too

    your supposed to take the the surround sound setting off and the the full two channels should send to the reciever but then the reciever will then decode it to 5.1 and it then should work

    The Xbox 360 most likely outputs Dolby Pro Logic, which the receiver can use to sort of “make” a rear channel.

    i beleave they where having trouble communicating i could tell the whole time that the caller didnt understand or knew that wasnt the problem but didnt say anything

    either way an audio forum would be better

    um… chris, hate to tell you this. go and buy any motherboard or any sound card for PC and, they’ll have coax and toslink.
    and, you didnt say, that outputting it via toslink doesnt decode the signal, thats why analog 3.5mm connectors are better often.
    the A/V reciever is upmixing it to surround sound.
    and chris! how he is connecting the 360 to the reciever is the same as how he is connecting the PC to the reciever!!!
